Grey’s Anatomy has been another interesting season, not lacking in the drama the show is famed for, following the beyond-tense shooting in the previous season’s shocking finale. It was questionable whether or not the being human season 3 day-to-day drama would keep up, given Dr. McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) are finally together, for good, it seems. But it has certainly not been lacking, there have been tears a-plenty. Particular standout performances from this season have been Kevin McKidd as Dr.
Owen Hunt, and the tension and Project Runway Season 9 not-quite love triangle between Callie, Arizona and Mark (Sara Ramirez, Jessica Capshaw, Eric Dane) has created a lot of interest. The much-anticipated musical episode was nowhere near as bad as I’d expected, though was by no means good… I don’t like to say ‘jumped the shark’ but .. well I guess I just did.
To comedy! The Office bids farewell to Glee Complete Season 1-2 DVD Box Set Steve Carell at the end of the season. I’ve been a long term fan of the show and I won’t deny how much I’m going to miss him, and I would love to be positive about it and say it can continue without him but in truth I don’t want it to. I just dislike the American idea that seems to be ‘let’s continue until we get cancelled.’ In truth, no matter how much I like the show, it should’ve ended a while ago, and this seems like a good opportunity to stop.

Another week and another crop of movies for me to dissect. Not a shabby looking week though, as we start off with the new Matt in treatment season 2 dvd Damon sci-fi thriller The Adjustment Bureau. Damon stars as a politician who falls for a young ballerina (Emily Blunt) but supernatural forces are fighting to keep them apart. The film is based on a Phillip K. Dick novel and being a fan of Dick (lets The Cosby Show dvd just get that joke out of the way) I’m greatly anticipating this to be one of the early surprises of the year, I’m seeing it tonight and will probably have a review by tomorrow. Here’s the cool looking trailer after the jump.
Next up is the interesting animated flick Rango from director Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and The Weatherman). The film follows a Hawaiian shirt wearing chameleon voiced by The Defenders Season 1 DVD Box Set Johnny Depp who ends up becoming a sheriff in a lawless town. This film looks absolutely bizarre, but that might not be a good thing, it might be a little too out there for its own good but the Wild West element might help ground the movie. It has peaked my interest and I might try and check it out this weekend. Here is the trailer, you know, for kids.

Why is it that when classic literature is adapted into a new setting it usually stinks unless it’s a teen film? Perhaps the melodramatic qualities of these tales will only translate well to a teenager. Age of the Dragons is a very Boardwalk Empire Season 2 loose adaptation of Herman Melville’s Moby Dick except this time Captain Ahab (Glover) isn’t chasing a white whale, he’s searching for a white dragon. The film follows Ahab’s newest crewmember Ishmael (Sevier) who witnesses his captain’s dissent into madness as he attempts to destroy the wretched beast.
Does Danny Glover have nothing better to do? He really needs a new Lethal Weapon because he is useless here. Ahab is a Traveler Season 1 character that should be played by a larger than life actor, someone who can be ballsy and crazy, not a man who always sounds like he’s about to have an asthma attack. There is no honesty to his madness; we never feel his need to kill this dragon. This film doesn’t require great skilled actors though, it’s a B-movie, and some hammy performances are welcomed in a film such as this.
Nobody understands this more than Vinnie Jones playing shipmate Stubbs; he’s deliciously awful in this, overacting, delivering his Scoundrels Season 1 DVD Box Set lines with all the gusto of a Shakespearian actor who never really made it. It would have been far more convincing (and a hell of a lot more entertaining) if Jones had played Ahab. The more said about the unknowns in this film the better, still special mention must go to John Kepa Kruse who plays Queequeg, an actor who seems to believe that a constant look of constipation on ones face might convey intensity.

Big week for releases here. Basically just traffic light season 1 a major catch-up with US, but there are definitely some interesting releases.
So after showing us the best she can be in Black Swan, Natalie Portman now returns to our screens with the dull looking rom com No Strings Attached. Portman stars against one of my least favourite actors, Ashton Kutcher how i met your mother box set (Valentine’s Day) as two friends who decide to have consequence free sex. It looks to me like a When Harry Met Sally wannabe and I am far more interested in the similarly plotted Friends With Benefits which opens later this year, but I do have faith in Portman and with Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters) behind the camera it can’t be all bad (then again he did make the atrocious My Super Ex-Girlfriend and Evolution).
My hopes aren’t high but I do have a Mad Men Seasons 1-4 DVD Box set vague interest. Here are some clips for you guys to enjoy after the jump.

Next up is the hyperdrive action flick Drive Angry 3D. Nicolas Cage plays a man who comes back from the dead to take care of the Hayao Miyazaki Movies Collection DVD Box Set men who killed his daughter whilst everyones favourite 27%er William Fichtner plays a demon who wants to drag Cage back to hell.
I accidentally ended up at the SDCC panel for this film, I had no idea what it was but what I saw blew my mind (and it wasn’t just two and a half men dvd set me being stunned at how vapid Nicolas Cage seemed to be). This looks like real good fun with a tongue in cheek attitude and 3D being used as a gimmick like it is supposed to be, I’ll be seeing this one this week. Here’s the trailer.
What happened to Anthony Hopkins career? Honestly, this guy is a great actor who really can’t get a break, he deserves far better than The Rite, this just looks like horror at its most basic level. As much as I enjoy The Exorcist criminal minds season 5 dvd and despite being one of the supporters of last years The Last Exorcism, I’m really tired of priests being the heroes in horror movies, it doesn’t get me excited at all, it just bores me. I have heard really bad word of mouth on this one, I have no real intentions of ever seeing it but for you die hard horror fans, it might be a good time to be had at the cinema. Here’s the trailer.

I’m not a big fan of crime dramas, obviously there are some that break through my filter (mainly Scorsese and Mann films) but I kind of dug the new Australian film Animal Kingdom. The film is not perfect, it drags a The Cosby Show dvd bit and it feels hollow but it was able to keep my interest all the way through and I became invested in the plot. The film follows an Australian teen Josh (James Frecheville) who moves in with his criminal extended family, Guy Pearce plays the in treatment season 2 dvd police inspector who makes it his goal to bring down the family using Josh as his inside man.
I don’t understand the Jacki Weaver nomination, she plays the matriarch of the family and honestly I didn’t notice anything special in her performance, her spot should have been filled by Lesley Manville from Another Year but that is a different article. I’d definitely recommend this one to fans of the crime genre, and anyone who is looking for a genuinely interesting story. Here’s a clip.
I’ve never really understood the love for the 1999 hit East is East but it seems to have become a cult classic and here we are, 12 The Starter Wife Season 1 DVD Box Set years later and we have the sequel West is West. Set in 1975, we visit the ever so dysfunctional Khan family once again though this time we travel with them to Pakistan to see life on the west side. The reviews have been poor and my lack of interest in the first one tells me to stay away but I will probably check it out on DVD. For those who are still interested you may watch the trailer below.

You might notice that a few of the the vampire diaries box set aritcles have suddenly disappeared. I wanted to briefly address what’s happening with the site.
Occasionally, when you build a new website, you run into bugs. Building ScreenGeeks UK has certainly been no exception. I’m sure the big c season 1 dvd you noticed that when you clicked on the About page or tried to read all of Jack’s review of Age of the Dragons, you were just brought back to the main site.
I ended up having to rebuild the Trauma Season 1 DVD Box Set entire site from scratch in order to fix this, and it unfortunately reslted in losing some posts. If you ask nice, Jack just might link you back to that Justin Bieber trailer. We’re still tweaking the site, but we hope you enjoy it.4F39500149264DE474AA8FA4C67379D1
